The library possesses many valuable publications and cultural treasures. These include old manuscripts and early print works which have in many cases been beautifully illustrated.  Many of  them have come from monasteries within Upper Austria which were dissolved in the 18th century.

• Historical works that are older than 100 years cannot be borrowed
• You can work with or read these documents within our normal opening hours here in the library in a special reading room for rare books.
• A separate request form (German only) has to be filled in.

To make copies of historical books or manuscripts, please contact our staff. The rights to the pictures remain in principle with the library. Any use other than for private purposes must be approved by the library before these copies can be made.
